Feels like so many of us blogged, used medium, xanga, tumblr etc but never thought that writing was something worth doing. It is great that so many have found others now and at least are finding joy in doing it.
Loved this Cissy! It’s inspiring to see how you’ve found your way back to writing and your learnings from following what’s bringing you alive resonates. “your words were once an exact shape of my wounds.” 💗
You’ve quoted many of my fave writers as well!
Here are some introspective writers that I also enjoy reading here:
I’ve always forgiven myself if there are negative consequences to decisions I make when following my intuition — but it’s harder to go easy on myself when I don’t trust my gut and “fail.” It’s something that takes continuous practice to cultivate over time. Thank you for sharing this ✨
love that approach, Zoë – making a "mistake" when we follow someone else's instinct is a much harder lesson to learn & internalize. appreciate you reading :)
Babysitter’s Club!! This felt like a trip down memory lane. I grew up with my nose in a book too. I used to tell my mom I needed a nightlight because I was afraid of the dark just so I could read.
Excellent essay chocked full of value. I’m so glad you’re writing

i'm grateful to have found y'all through your words :)

I used to love those lights that clipped onto books! Hah, love how sneaky little you was.
one of my favorite places to read was under the covers. thanks for continuing to support my writing – really appreciate you, Miche 🫶🏼
Beautiful to hear your captivation with reading and journaling at a young age & the words that have guided you on the journey 😄

Great list of to-reads on introspecting, and an even greater feat that you are writing about it! P.S. I loved A Series of Unfortunate Events so much.
hope you find a new writer that inspires you among that list :)
I hadn't thought about Violet and Klaus for YEARS – didn't realize they'd made a TV series!
What a piece of humble writing.
thanks for reading, Qi :)
appreciate you helping me get to clarity, Anthony :)
