Really enjoyed this piece. How both of you took the time to set up and envelop the reader in the problem, then transition to a argument with both of your origin stories. Well done

thanks for reading, Kiran! our origin stories were meaningful & fun to reflect on

Congrats Cissy! This sounds so exciting :) i especially connected with the feelings of numbness at work, as that’s a defense mechanism that I’ve developed as well to put up with the chaos of tech. Really excited for these sessions whenever you host them!

ah, a classic defense mechanism to protect ourselves from intense schedules & responsibilities – here's to thawing the numbness as you navigate your sabbatical!

will keep you posted if & when we run sessions in NY :)

I came from your pt 2 post! Woah, I feel a like this post hit me at the right time. I spent the pandemic years trying to optimize productivity and now I realized I don't really want to hit that "optimal" level and instead want to tune into myself more...

Cissy Hu's avatar

100% feel that, Becky – I was such an optimizer for so long. turns out tuning into our intuition and bodies is a way more sustainable practice :) hope you find some gems in emotional embracement to adopt!

Love that Tony Robbins quote – thanks for sharing, Anthony! it's wild how ingrained in us it is to suppress "negative" emotions, mistaking it for the path to being more productive, more "mindful"
